We have a special treat lined up for our next event. Coquerel Family
Estate Wines is participating in the 2018 Buffalo Wine and Food Festival
the weekend of April 13th thru April 15th. They will be making a stop
in Midland on their way to the festival to share their wines with us.
A little history: Clay and Brenda Cockerell (Coquerel is an archaic
French derivation of the family name – Cockerell) purchased their
vineyard in Calistoga, California in 2005. Their winemaker, Christine
Barbe was born and raised in Bordeaux France. In 1996 she moved to
California where she worked for Robert Mondavi and Gallo and Trinchero.
Stacey Pytlewski grew up in the Bay area and has a natural love of wine.
She oversees all the Coquerel consumer and national sales. We will be
tasting a 2016 Le Petit Sauvignon Blanc, 2014 Terroir Sauvignon Blanc,
2013 Pinot Noir, 2013 Petite Sirah and 2014 Tempranillo.
The event will begin on Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at the Grasslands
Estate Clubhouse, 5800 Crowley, Midland, Texas. Cost will be $40 Members
and $45 Guests. Please make your reservations by calling Shirley Choate
at 432-553-6408 by April 10th.
I think this event will sell out fast so make your plans now.
