Discovering Sake and Japanese Wines
The Greater Houston Chapter invites you to Discovering Sake and Japanese Wines, an exciting tasting event showcasing some of Japan’s finest beverages and cuisine.
Guests will enjoy six highly rated sake selections and three Japanese red wines while learning about the traditions and craftsmanship behind these distinctive styles.
The six sake offerings are all classified as Junmai Daiginjo, the highest premium category of sake. Produced from highly polished rice with at least 50% of the outer grain removed, these sakes are naturally fermented without the addition of brewer’s alcohol, resulting in elegant and refined flavors.
In addition to sake, we will sample three Japanese red varietals:
Pinot Noir
Merlot
Muscat Bailey A
Developed in Japan in the 1920s, Muscat Bailey A is a cross between the American Bailey grape and European Black Muscat.
A Japanese buffet will accompany the tasting.
